Château Lynch-Bages

At the gates of Pauillac, a few hundred meters from the town, the Château Lynch-Bages is named after the old hamlet of Bages where lived generations of winemakers. In the mid 18th century, the Lynch family becomes hostess and extends the efforts of the former owners, who have raised the quality of the wines over the vintages. Today and since 1930, the castle is run by the Cazes family, now with Sylvie and Jean-Charles Cazes in charge.

The 100 hectares of vineyards are located on a magnificent terroir that summarizes the best of the Medoc of severe ridges Garonne well drained and sunny. The grape varieties are the result of the intimate understanding of the owners of their vineyards. It is now composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The average age of the vines is about 30 years in 2010, the oldest having more than 60 years.
