Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry
On the website's home page of this Third Cru Margaux, we read the following sentence: we do not inherit the earth from our parents but we borrow it from our children, whose author is not another Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Everything is said with these words. First, parentage, admittedly distant, with the famous aviator whose family was owner of the premises during the 19th century, before falling in 1955 in the hands of the Zuger family, still in control through Jean- Luke, the third name.
Then there is this sentence a whole philosophy of respect for the vines and the environment, which results in a precise and meticulous work in the ranks, to bring the best crop possible for the tanks, produced as part of moderate returns for not exhausting the soil.
The winemaking is entirely directed towards the expression of terroir and Michel Rolland comes several times a year to follow the evolution of the grapes as well as wine.
The motto of the castle is semper ad altum - ever higher - and thus the Zuger considering their work.
