Château Rahoul

It is a certain Guillaume Rahoul, nobleman and knight, giving rise instead, which does not associate wine. After the Revolution, the wine begins career of the castle, with several owners, including foreign, which give the name his current reputation. Today is Alain Thiénot, also head of the Champagne house of the same name, who owns the place and applies an uncompromising quality policy.

The vines - 38.5 hectares for the red, white 3.5 - are conducted according to the principle of rational control, including in green jobs. The grape variety is wide with for the reds, Merlot dominant, cabernet sauvignon and a little Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The whites are made from 78% Semillon and 22% Sauvignon, reversing the Bordeaux habits that usually give primacy to the second variety.

After hand picking, vinification are traditional and involve as much as stainless steel timber, new or old. The idea that guides the actions that will give rise to these Graves red and white? Vinification facing the respect of the fruit over the months.
