Château Troplong Mondot

We can summarize the history of this Grand Cru Saint Emilion by three names: Sèze Troplong and Valletta.

The first name is that of the priest who built the castle and gave the vines Mondot their first fame.

The second name, Troplong is that of lawyer and peer of France who, in 1850, will acquire the castle to bring the area of ​​vineyards to 33 hectares and give the name of the luster it has today.

Finally, there is the Valette family, 4 generations, has worked tirelessly on this beautiful vineyard. In 2006, Christine Valette-Pariente and her husband Xavier Pariente see their efforts and those of previous generations awarded the classification Premier Cru classé B castle.

The 33 hectares of vines - 90% merlot and the rest cabernet franc and between sauvignon - occupy the plateau of Saint-Emilion and its vineyards, for beautifully exposed and drained soils. In the winery, under the guidance of Michel Rolland, vinification are made in stainless steel and wood, with a high proportion of new barrels for farms.
