Château Calon-Ségur
Calon was the name given to the craft used in the Middle Ages to transport timber from one side to the other of the Garonne. And in the early 18th century, the Marquis de Segur, who received on the occasion of his marriage the area, added his name and thus was born the label for this third grand cru classé of Saint-Estèphe. Calon-Segur remained in the Capbern-Gasqueton family throughout the 19th century until 2012, when the property was bought by Suravenir Insurance, which continues to produce wines inimitable style marked with the seal of the appellation.
