Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

Set amid a century-old park with stunning views of the estuary of the Gironde, Ducru-Beaucaillou is a Victorian castle which became over time one of the great symbols of the Médoc. The Second Grand Cru classification of 1855, is named after the beautiful and boulders littering the vineyard and who actively participate in the quality of wine in the evenings restoring the heat accumulated during the day.
The castle is in the hands of the Borie family, which also owns the Ducluzeau castles, Lalande-Borie and Fourcas-Borie. The 75 hectares of Ducru Beaucaillou vineyard are spread over the eastern part of this great Quaternary gravel soil on which the Gironde estuary acts as an air conditioner.
In the vineyards, conducted in viticulture, there are about two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot for third, with parcels of old vines with roots deep to capture the essence of the terroir.
In the winery after manual harvest, wine making is fragmented, precise and attentive to wines whose reputation is well established.
